What A Child Taught Us All About Manifesting Our Dreams

It is one of my greatest pleasures to announce that our daughter Marina won the Meet & Greet contest to meet her pop star idol – Cody Simpson!

And she’s asked me to make sure that I convey her appreciation and gratitude for everyone who rallied around her in an all out effort to make it happen!

But there’s far more to this story though than a little lady winning a contest and that’s what I’m going to reveal to you today in this blog post.

So take a few moments to fully absorb what a child taught us all about manifesting our dreams as you note and EMBRACE the sequence of events that I’m about to reveal and how they apply to your own dreams…

I know in my heart it was no mere coincidence that the very same week I released my long awaited product – Milestone Mapping Mastery – my very own daughter became one of my greatest testimonials to the power of this formula I teach. But the timing of this all was no more in MY control than the course of events are in YOUR control when setting your own intentions and manifesting your own dreams.

You see, one of the fundamental principles I teach is that when you set an intention, you should not focus on the path or steps along the way – that is the role of the universe and why I say… “Let The Universe Take The Wheel.” And this whole concert and contest rang true to that very notion…

Setting a goal and taking inspired action – but not becoming fixated on the “path” along the way…

In fact, truth be told – we were originally scheduled to be at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA during the exact time of the concert in Tucson, AZ when we found out about it. So when Marina told me that the date of the concert was April 19th, at that exact moment, we had “non-changeable” hotel reservations that well… I got changed!

The only way to make the concert was to move the dates of the Disney trip – the “fixed” and “firm” dates, that is!

But hey – NOTHING is ever set in stone, and you don’t know unless you try – so off I went to call the hotel and plead my case as to why I needed to change the un-changeable. It took talking to 2 supervisors before I got it done, but the reservations got changed – mission accomplished!

Now, it’s important to note at that time, there was no contest. This was simply a concert Cody was putting on at the Pima County Fair in Tucson, so meeting Cody was not on the radar at this moment in time and space… or was it?

One might easily ask at this point who’s radar, right? Ours, mine, Marina’s… or the Universe!

You see, throughout the entire winter, Cody has been performing on the east coast, doing his own shows and selling Meet & Greet packages for $99 at nearly every stop. Not practical when we’re parked in the motorhome on the West Coast for sure.

Then, all of a sudden, when the east coast tour was over, he announced that he’d be opening for another band this summer – which meant a mere 15 minute performance or so instead of a full concert.

Appreciative of even that small sighting, Marina was thrilled when we bought tickets to the venue in Utah in July – but not so thrilled when it was announced that because of the notoriety of the main band playing at the Utah concert,  the Meet & Greets for that concert were, yes… $350 EACH! (With no guarantee that Cody would even be included in the M & G.)

Now, I’m all for making dreams come true – but $350 x 3 (me, Marina and Morgan) was not happening! And the girls were fine with it, because they know the value of a dollar and would never consider asking mom to shell out over a grand for such a thing. Good girls they are!

But when we found out about Utah, I made this EXACT comment to Marina:

“I have a vision of seeing you standing next to Cody honey. I don’t know where or when, but have faith that it will happen and trust that the Universe will arrange events to make your dream come true! I’ve seen in it my minds eye already – so consider it a done deal.”

Naysayers and critics might call this ‘building false hope,’ and I admit, it’s a pretty strong leap of faith to be so sure of something and ingrain this belief system in your own children, but I am reasonably sure that most reading this here today understand the pure power in this approach to life.

And for those reading this that know us personally, it also begins to answer the question as to “why” and “how” so many of these magical things in life come our way seamlessly.

So fast forward to this past week and there we were at Disney. The “plan” was to enjoy our 6 days in the park leisurely riding rides and indulging in all the awesome magic and then head back to Quartzsite (200 mi), pick up Greg and head on to Tucson (another 200 mi) the day before the concert.

Then it happened…

Standing in line for Space Mountain, checking Facebook on her iPhone, Marina screamed… “They are doing a contest to meet Cody in person!”

And I have to admit my initial reaction was how on earth were we going to engage in a contest in the middle of our trip?

… Especially when the prior contests up to that point for other fair related giveaways had revolved around doing draw pictures, creating projects and being the first to respond to trivia questions with the right answers. None of which were conducive to being in the middle of an amusement park – with one possible exception…

The fair organizer went on to say that this contest involved creating a video telling the world why you are the biggest Cody fan and the best video and one with the most Facebook “likes” would get to see their idol.

So without missing a beat, Marina saw this challenge as being a perfect fit for laying the stage to plead her case as to why SHE was the biggest Cody fan. She was already at the “happiest place on earth,” so why not engage the happiest guests on earth and the Disney Cast Members at her disposal to make her dream come true!

And so for the rest of the night, she walked up to total strangers and asked them to allow us to video them shouting “Vote for Marina to Meet Cody Simpson!” (You can still view the video here if you haven’t seen it yet)

Now I have to also add here that this gregarious behavior is not part of Marina’s normal repertoire – if you know our daughters, you know full well that it’s Morgan who loves the limelight and not Marina – who prefers to be the methodical engineer in the background. But for one night, she put that aside and reached outside of her comfort zone, because, yes – it WAS that important to her!

Including the taping of her own admonishment in front the the Disney castle where she actually shouted, “I’m at the Happiest Place on Earth and Meeting Cody Simpson would make me the Happiest Girl on Earth.” Truly, that was a difficult level of expression for her, and I watched her dig deep down and muster the nerve to make it so.

So the video was born, submitted and the wait began…

Getting FB likes became the next milestone and it seemed to be going according to plan as she was 300 likes ahead of her nearest competition thanks to the rallying support of all our friends and online family – then it happened…

The snipping began amongst the other teenagers in the contest who started leaving nasty comments on her wall and in private messages, and “likes” were suddenly being purchased instead of earned, and it started to look like her dream was slipping away…

And I got to sit by and watch how this turn of events was to be handled by a child, far older than her years as it is often revealed.

Near tears, sitting near the lagoon half an hour from the Fantasmic performance, Marina turned to me as my heart was aching for her and said:

“Mommy, I am NOT going to cheat just to win and I won’t be like those other girls and even reply to the mean things they are saying. I don’t know how, but I still think I am going to win and I’m just going to focus on all the nice comments that my true friends are leaving. Let’s just enjoy our last show here and trust that it will happen.”

And with that proclamation, the fine folks at Disney shot off the opening fireworks for the Fantasmic show, and my mini manifestor turned to watch the show – proclaiming afterward, that just like Mickey in the show, the underdog prevailed because “good” always wins over “bad.”

Whoa – the teacher being taught by the student, indeed!

And the rest as they say is history… we wrapped up our trip that night, said our goodbyes to the Mouse and returned to the hotel to pack up and leave in the morning. And it was not until during our 4 hour drive home that the contest winners would be announced, so there was still a long trip ahead…

From the moment we pulled out of the parking lot, and for the next 3 hours, Marina was running neck in neck with the likes on her video to the girl who was buying hers, but that didn’t stop Marina from reaching out to person after person on her friends list asking them to rally support in the final hours – and support she got indeed!

As the minutes ticked down to the noon deadline, she was 20 likes behind (we’re talking 700 some likes, mind you!), but then 12:00pm struck and she was still 2nd in “likes.”

Battling semi’s on the freeway in one side of my brain and being attentive to my daughter – who for all intents and purposes saw her dream slipping away – I have to admit that “trusting the Universe,” was becoming a little more challenging as each mile passed before us.

But there were 2 winners to be announced – Most Likes AND Best Video – and Marina held firm that she would see her name on the Facebook post when the 1pm contest winners were announced.

I just kept driving and yes, praying…

She on the other hand proceeded to scroll through and read out loud the over 200 comments that people had left her under the video and focus on the joy and gratitude she felt for the energy and expressions of love that the comments meant to her. At one point even saying, “no matter what happens, THESE COMMENTS make me the true winner!”

And winner she was indeed…

As the final bell tolled – the post was made and Marina was the winner of the Best Video and she’d be meeting Cody in a little over 24 hours!

Dreams do come true – it can happen to you!

Now, my original intention here was to draw out from the above a “conclusion” listing all of the finer points of this example of manifesting at its finest. But instead, I am sending out a challenge to all readers of this post to tell me what poignant message this case study meant to YOU!

So please leave a comment and I will interject my own philosophies in the comments as well, as we explore together the same fundamental teachings in my own Milestone Mapping Mastery as I show the world the formula for manifesting the life of your dreams.

I want to hear each of you extract the underpinnings of what we’ve all learned here (mom included) because in my mind that is truly the way you will learn and gain the greatest take aways from all of what we’ve just witnessed first hand.

It’s your turn now – what did you learn by watching a child manifest her own dreams and how will it help you in going forward and reaching yours?

Please join in the magic and leave your answer below:

Congratulations, Mulacs! You guys are truly an inspiring example of ethics, perseverance and gratitude!

I’m so proud to meet you all in person when I was at Vegas and being around you guys as a family made me appreciate this blog post even more.

    Thanks for sharing!

      Khai,

The pleasure in meeting you and your awesome wife was all ours and we took much inspiration and memories away from our time together! We’ve already set our sites on doing Disney with the two of you when you return to the states in November!

Hugs from all us Mulacs to you both!

      • Wanda says:

Congratulations. Marina and to the rest of the Mulacs family. Truly, I have enjoyed this leason. It does not matter how we get to where we are going just as long as we know the vision we want in the end. Wow this is powerful.

        • Carol says:

Wanda – the “HOW” surely does matter. I think you worded this just a bit more than you wanted. The how could be very diasterious for many people along your way and you must not use others for your own gain.
Asisting others while you go forward, in the long run, is not using but helping them too.
But be careful that you are not the main one in your “assisting”.

  • Mrs. Mulac, allow me not to be the first to congratulate your daughter, because there are lots of people who already have done so. However, I would like to share this incredibly inspiring story with my friends and my followers on Twitter (they don’t really believe in the Law of Attraction). Also, I wish I could meet you and your daughter (sounds a bit stalker-ish, I know) so that I may congratulate her in person.

    • admin says:

      Hi Roberto,

NOT stalker-ish at all – we love living our fulltime RVing lifestyle for that very reason – so we can meet and continue to inspire people in person. Just as you see from our great friend Khai who just commented too and whom we had the pleasure to meet in Vegas a few months back! Please do share this story as it is truly how we can all make a difference in the lives of others!

      ~Stephanie

  • Alex says:

Congratulations, Marina! This is a wonderful result of ‘executing of wishes’.

  • aneesa says:

If we have your focus and belief in whatyou envision and we have the simplicity of a child’s faith – we should have the formula for manifesting our desires – as long tas they are legitimate and do not hur tothers.

  • deano says:

Hi, what a great ending, its all about faith, belief, love and happyness, never ever give up and you will get there. Be grateful for what you have now and stay humble. Trust in the universe supportin you and the unseen wil be seen. You will see it when you believe it 🙂

  • The big message that comes through for me is “always be true to yourself – never compromise your integrity no matter how desirable the goal.” I was reminded of the sub-prime mortgage debacle where the prevailing attitude was “I have to be sleazy like the other guys to stay competitive.”

Both Marina and yourself, as a parent, are to be commended for your actions. I hope you will both continue to shine a light on the things that truly matter and thank you for sharing this story.

  • Aline says:

Congratulations to Marina, that is great news. I hope she had a fabulous time with Cody.
The lesson for me was very much about taking action and trusting the universe to do its part. I have recently made a decision about a business I want to develop, and already, when I have been wondering what to do next, someone has contacted me, either by email or letter, giving me some pertinent information and an opportunity to respond and move forward, just with a baby step, to the next stage. The action was responding to the contact and so far it has been all positive! Great stuff. Thanks for sharing your daughter’s inspirational story.

    • admin says:

Isn’t it wonderful when the Universe aligns everything you need as long as your eyes are open to it! Keep us posted on the progress you are making in your new business endeavors! ~Stephanie

  • Kids teach us so much about ourselves. I am in the middle of my transformation and deciding that I make my own life. The other night I was having doubts about my battle and my seven year old was in bed with me at the time. I was starting to doze off and my little girl turned to me and for no reason said “I BELIEVE IN YOU MUMMY!” This is not the normal language she would use and she just said it out of the blue. She had no idea about my doubts.

I feel that children believe in their dreams when young and life knocks that out of them. God used my daughter to say the right thing at the right time. I felt instantly empowered again! Thank God for your children!

    • admin says:

Wow – that’s so powerful and just goes to show that the little ones are so much more intuitive than we often realize and so magical when we hear them! ~Stephanie

  • Christine Morrison says:

Way to go Marina! I was so happy for you when I found out you won best video!!It also looked like you had a great time making it happen!
I was impressed that Marina didn’t sell herself short or stoop to win this contest( and Mom,you had a hand in that!!)Manifesting a positive outlook even when it looked iffy for her!!What a great lesson learned and she was right when she said she was already a winner!!Thank you for sharing!!

  • Bob Carr says:

    CONGRATULATIONS, MARIANA!
As your mom described your fantastic journey at Disney World, I could hear Jimmy Durante sing “Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you…”. I am happy it did happen to you…you deserved it. As an introvert, I felt your struggle to get outside your comfort zone.
Your example is an inspiration. Enjoy the rewards of your labors.

  • Liberty says:

What an awesome story, doesn’t surprise me at all though; Marina is such a sweetheart and so deserving of having her dreams come true. Give her our love and congratulations.

  • Dr. Ranka Kulic says:

Universe makes connections between different things, connections which are hidden for us for so long period. We ask ourselves what does it mean when something goes on – where we are in it? But, It is obviously, the named connections make a new opportunities for us. So, we can expect, always, as in front of us exists a day when we have to say as we feel as somebody who has found something too great.

  • Thomas says:

Hi Ms. Mulac. Thank you for sharing a truly inspirational account! I have been a subscriber since January and took the leap and purchased the Milestone Mapping Course when I had the opportunity. Your daughter’s story is more proof of belief and “knowing” how events will turn out versus worrying about how to get there. This account reaffirms my belief that I will accomplish my desire. I have a disabled daughter that likes to travel and my/our desire is to acquire a RV and roam the United States. Reading about your daughter’s experience strongly reinforces my opinion of “it is not a question of if, but rather a question of when.” As I have mentioned to my son, I am strongly feeling ownership of the RV that I have been watching for about 18 months. If there was ever proof of my opinion, the RV in question was “sold” last fall. Apparently, something went wrong with the potential deal, and it fell through, leaving the vehicle available for the universe to put it in my care.
    Tom

  • The magic of Walt Disney plays out strong as dreams really do come true. The happiest place on earth exists because Walt was as brave as Marina and was willing to keep asking and keep believing no matter what others said or did. Just like Marina in the middle had to face people ridiculing her and attempting to deflate her so did Walt and she said as he did it didn’t really matter. The universe supports those who are willing to really GO FOR IT as Marina did, as Cody does, as you Stephanie do and as you encourage others to. It isn’t the getting that is the important part it is the going for it that truly makes the difference and creates the magic that can be shared. Thanking you for sharing, for believing and for dreaming. I say that miracles happen when we know what we want, ask for it, show up, keep our word and have a natural attitude of gratitude, certainly seen in Marina’s miracle and in the life that you all lead!

  • Kathy Dobson says:

Honestly Stephanie this whole thing has taken my breath away. No one knows better how magical this whole thing is than Suzen and I after spending a week with you guys in February… and listening everyday to Marina’s dream of meeting Cody.

I am not at all surprised that the Universe used a “child such as this”… as an example to us all.
For children have not yet closed their minds to ‘possibilities’…and in the case of Marina she had the influence of your teachings as well.

It doesn’t get any better than that 😉

What a lesson to us all. Manifesting is not hard at all. The Universe wants more than anything to grant our desires…that’s why we have them!

Marina simply placed her desire in the wellspring of emotion and enjoyed the feeling without fear or demand of how things should occur.

She is your little “Milestone Mapping Manifester”…
No finer or truer testimonial could you ever ask for.
Her integrity throughout was the deal sealer.

It is no coincidence that these two…the release of Milestone Mapping and Marina’s successful manifesting happened in the same timeline. You can be sure the Universe knew exactly what it was doing. It was making a bold statement.

    Congrats to all of you!
    Kathy

  • Nicky says:

thank you for sharing this wonderful inspiring story. Children are amazing people! As a parent I have sometimes missed moments to observe the magnificent nature of my son and how he has such command of his reality. I congratulate you on your wonderful ability to trust and observe and support your daughter. Congratulations to Marina and please let her know that this “journey” didn’t really end with her meeting Cody, because she is now and will continue to impact so many through her story. Tell her thank you for me please. Namaste!

Marina said thank you and how special it’s made her feel to realize the impact she’s having that you noted. ~Stephanie

  • Robin Carlisle says:

I counted 48 Disney visitors and employees, complete strangers to Marina, who reached out to help her dream come true when asked. The fact Marina discovered her opportunity at the most famous place “where dreams do come true,” ran with the opportunity, asked for help, persisted, kept true to her word and values, spoke from her heart, and thanked everyone along the way gave everything such a magical, miraculous feel.

But I think Kathryn summed it up best: “Miracles happen when we know what we want, ask for it, show up, keep our word and have a natural attitude of gratitude….” Sharing how she accomplished her goal with others and inspiring others to accomplish their goals in their own unique way in turn, as you’ve done here, is the next step in this miraculous process.

But even if Marina had not won the prize, her dreams in forward action still won all our hearts. And most certainly inspired and reminded me of the awesome power of dreams.

When you know exactly what it is you want, the many paths to your goal will increasingly narrow and shorten in direct relationship to the intensity, focus, and commitment to your taking forward action steps to achieve it. No magic or miracle involved. Just a clearly visualized dream, a focused vision that quickly recognizes, responds to and seizes opportunities to make the dream happen, and a 100% commitment to taking forward moral action steps until the goal is achieved. But still, that leaves out one vital “magic” ingredient.

Marina’s dream in motion was inspiring enough. The fact that she didn’t win enough votes to win the prize of her original intent didn’t matter. The energy and good will she generated along the way created its own momentum and its own video — one worthy of winning the incalculable “best” prize.

Clearly, more than 700 ingredients went into the “magic” recipe for winning that prize. But it started with only two — Marina and her vision of her dream realized — and was initially sweetened with the mix of 48 magical strangers she asked to help bake her little cake to share with hundreds of other well-wishing dreamers.

One way or another, the Universe always rewards those with the power of a clear cut dream whenever they ask other people to taste and dream their little dream with them. When Marina stepped out from her comfort zone to ask for small specific bits of help from others, her success was ensured. If not at that concert, then surely at the next. It was only a matter of time.

As I sit here pondering Marina’s dream realized, I ask myself what small specific actions could make the same kind of exponential difference in realizing my own dreams and whether I have the courage to step outside my own comfort zone to ask others for help with those small things just as Marina did.

At least for me, it seems the positive exponential effect of Marina’s teenage dream may not yet be over. Time to dream a little dream of my own…

Wow – as my husband just said when I read this aloud to the entire family, “what do you say to that?” You touched me and left me speechless, which is truly rare – as were the tears you brought to my eyes. Thank you for tapping the essence of it all and keep me posted on those dreams of yours! ~Stephanie

  • Awesome and inspiring story of committment, truth, battling adversity with love instead of hate and applying the work to allow God to manifest and get the glory….thanks.. I needed this inspiring story. I know she had a great time!

    Never giving up at trying

Thankyou for sharing this inspiring life event with us! I very rarely get to read your emails but for some reason did this one! And i am so glad i did.

  • Lily says:

Aaaaah! This is a perfect example of why we must connect to the energy and excitement of the end result but not get attached to HOW it will happen.

Marina didn’t focus on the hows. She focused so smartly on aligning her energy with the result she wanted and she left the hows to the Universe. The original way “how” she thought she would win didn’t pan out. And the “how” of the fact that you were at the happiest place on earth and could engage all those other wonderful people in her video made her video stand out amongst the rest. I LOVE this brilliant story that illustrates so perfectly “how” (chuckle) to approach manifesting.

It’s also incredibly valuable to note that she took major action to receive this thing she wanted! Receiving is not passive and to realize our BIG dreams – sometimes we need to stretch ourselves like she did when she pushed past her usual introvert comfort zone.

It is a true pleasure and honor to learn from you, Marina. Thank you for this wonderful gift.

You are so right to believe we all can have what ever it is we desire Believing is the biggest key, an it comes slowly sometimes as we are retraining our minds that what we think will pay off! Just keep going to change your mind set and the universe will honour.
